Salted Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Salted Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies | Butter And Sprinkles

It’s Bakin’ Friends reveal day and this month our secret ingredient was dark chocolate! I was so excited to see what Erin of The Spiffy Cookie had baked for me. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you should! She has so many yummy recipes, and this one did not disappoint!

I’ve been meaning to make a salted cookie recipe and I will definitely be making these in the near future! The salt is a great addition and brings out the flavor of the peanut butter and chocolate. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on these! And, since the recipe makes 24 small cookies, you could just eat one and not feel guilty (for me, that just meant eating 2-3 at a time!)

Ingredients:

1 cup chunky natural peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
course sea salt (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment or silicone baking mat.
2. In a large bowl, stir peanut butter together with sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips. Scoop onto prepared baking sheet using a small cookie scoop (or drop by rounded teaspoonfuls). Sprinkle with sea salt, if using.
3. Bake 10 minutes until cookies are slightly flattened and are not shiny. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes on baking sheet before moving to a cooling rack.

If you’ve not yet joined the Bakin’ Friends group, you should! Every month we bake goodies using a secret ingredient. And the best part is, you’ll have a box of goodies waiting for you in your mailbox each month!
